How I can help.

I focus exclusively on Social Security Disability so you get specialized expertise — not a generalist handling disability cases on the side.

SSDI Benefits

Based on your work history and Social Security taxes paid. I’ll evaluate your eligibility and build the strongest possible case.

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is a federal program that provides monthly benefits to individuals who have worked and paid Social Security taxes but can no longer work due to a qualifying medical condition.

To qualify, you generally need to have earned enough work credits through employment. The number of credits required depends on your age when you became disabled. Most people need 40 credits, with 20 earned in the last 10 years.

I’ll review your work history, medical records, and the specific requirements of your case to determine the strongest path forward. Whether you’re filing an initial application or have already been denied, I can help.

02

SSI Benefits

Needs-based support for disabled individuals with limited income and resources, even without sufficient work history.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a needs-based program for disabled individuals who have limited income and resources. Unlike SSDI, SSI does not require a work history — making it an important option for many East Texans.

Eligibility is based on both your medical condition and your financial situation. There are strict income and resource limits that must be met. I’ll help you understand these requirements and gather the documentation needed.

Many clients qualify for both SSDI and SSI, and I can evaluate whether filing for one or both programs makes sense for your situation.

03

Denied Claims & Appeals

Most initial claims are denied. I handle the full appeals process from reconsideration through ALJ hearings.

If your Social Security Disability claim has been denied, you’re not alone — the majority of initial applications are denied. But a denial is not the end of the road. There are multiple levels of appeal, and your chances improve significantly with experienced legal representation.

The appeals process includes reconsideration, a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ), review by the Appeals Council, and federal court review. Each stage has strict deadlines — typically 60 days — and missing one can mean starting over.

I handle every stage of the appeals process. I’ll review your denial letter, identify weaknesses in the initial decision, gather additional medical evidence, and build a stronger case for the next level.

04

Disability Hearings

A hearing before an Administrative Law Judge is your best opportunity. I prepare you thoroughly and represent you fully.

A hearing before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) is often the most important step in the disability process. It’s your chance to tell your story directly to the person making the decision — and it’s where most claims are ultimately won.

I prepare every client thoroughly before their hearing. We’ll review your medical records together, discuss what questions to expect, and go over how to describe your limitations honestly and effectively.

Hearings in East Texas are typically held at the Office of Hearings Operations in Tyler. I’ve represented clients at hundreds of these hearings and understand how local ALJs evaluate cases.

05

Widow & Survivor Benefits

Social Security disability benefits for surviving spouses and children. I’ll help you understand your options and navigate the process.

If your spouse passed away and you are disabled, you may be eligible for Social Security survivor benefits based on their work record. These benefits are available to surviving spouses as early as age 50 if you have a qualifying disability.

Disabled surviving children may also qualify for benefits on a deceased parent’s record. The rules around survivor benefits can be complex, and many people don’t realize they may be eligible.

I’ll help you understand what benefits you or your family members may be entitled to, and guide you through the application or appeals process.

Conditions We Handle

Heart conditions, orthopedic injuries, cancer, mental illness, chronic pain, neurological disorders and more.

Social Security recognizes a wide range of medical conditions that may qualify for disability benefits. I’ve represented clients with conditions including:

Heart disease Back & neck injuries Joint problems Cancer Depression & anxiety PTSD Chronic pain Fibromyalgia COPD Diabetes complications Neurological disorders Autoimmune conditions

Even if your condition isn’t listed here, you may still qualify. What matters is how your condition limits your ability to work. I’ll evaluate your specific situation and advise you on the best path forward.

Don’t navigate the Social Security system alone. Whether you’re filing for the first time or fighting a denial, I’ll give you an honest assessment of your case at no cost.
