Serving Athens & Henderson County
Based in Tyler, serving disabled clients in Athens and Henderson County — with over 25 years focused exclusively on Social Security Disability.
Disability Help in Athens
Athens is the seat of Henderson County, about 35 miles west of Tyler — known around Texas as the “Original Home of the Hamburger” and as the home of the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center. It sits within the East Texas community I’ve served for more than 25 years. When Social Security denies your claim, it can feel like the system is working against you. I’ve spent my entire legal career focused on one thing: helping East Texans get the Social Security disability benefits they deserve. My office is in Tyler, but Henderson County residents are among the East Texans I represent, and I personally handle every case.

Social Security disability benefits for surviving spouses and children. I’ll help you understand your options and navigate the process.
Heart conditions, orthopedic injuries, cancer, mental illness, chronic pain, neurological disorders and more.
Why Cheyenne
Athens is roughly 35 miles west of my Tyler office, but you won’t need to make that drive often — most of the disability process I handle for you. If a case reaches a hearing, disability hearings for the Tyler area are held at the Social Security Office of Hearings Operations. I’ve represented clients at hundreds of those hearings and am familiar with the local Administrative Law Judges.
Common Questions
You may qualify if you have a medical condition that prevents you from working and is expected to last at least 12 months or result in death. Eligibility also depends on your work history (for SSDI) or income and resources (for SSI). I help people throughout Tyler, Smith County, and East Texas evaluate their eligibility at no charge.
You can check your claim status online at ssa.gov, by calling Social Security at 1-800-772-1213, or by visiting the Tyler Social Security office at 5509 S Donnybrook. If you’re my client, you can also call me directly anytime — I track every case closely and can give you a plain-language update.
Yes. If your condition has worsened, you have new medical evidence, or your circumstances have changed, you can file a new application at any time. Many of my clients in East Texas were denied in the past and successfully approved on a new claim or appeal. I’ll review your situation for free and tell you honestly whether a new application makes sense.
No. If we don’t win your case, you owe me nothing. That’s the deal, plain and simple. I take on the risk because I believe in the cases I accept.
