Serving Lufkin & Angelina County
Based in Tyler, serving disabled clients in Lufkin and Angelina County — with over 25 years focused exclusively on Social Security Disability.
Disability Help in Lufkin
Lufkin is the seat of Angelina County, about 85 miles southeast of Tyler in the East Texas timber country near the Angelina National Forest. It is the farthest of the East Texas communities I regularly serve from my Tyler office — but it is still very much part of the region I’ve practiced in for over 25 years. When Social Security denies your claim, it can feel like the system is working against you. I’ve spent my entire legal career focused on one thing: helping East Texans get the Social Security disability benefits they deserve. And distance doesn’t change the promise I make every client: when you call my office, you talk to me — not a case manager, not a paralegal. Me, every time.

Based on your work history and Social Security taxes paid. I’ll evaluate your eligibility and build the strongest possible case.
Needs-based support for disabled individuals with limited income and resources, even without sufficient work history.
Most initial claims are denied. I handle the full appeals process from reconsideration through ALJ hearings.
A hearing before an Administrative Law Judge is your best opportunity. I prepare you thoroughly and represent you fully.
Social Security disability benefits for surviving spouses and children. I’ll help you understand your options and navigate the process.
Heart conditions, orthopedic injuries, cancer, mental illness, chronic pain, neurological disorders and more.
Why Cheyenne
At about 85 miles, Lufkin is the longest drive to my Tyler office of the cities I serve — which is exactly why it helps to know that most of the disability process never requires that trip. I take over the paperwork, gather and review your medical records, and deal with Social Security on your behalf. If your claim is denied and reaches a hearing, disability hearings for the Tyler area are held at the Social Security Office of Hearings Operations, where I’ve represented clients at hundreds of hearings.
Common Questions
It depends on how much you’re earning. Social Security uses a threshold called Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA). In 2025, that’s $1,620 per month for most applicants. If you earn less than that, you may still be eligible. Many of my clients in East Texas are working limited hours due to their condition. I can help you understand where you stand.
You can, but the data shows that claimants represented by attorneys are significantly more likely to win at a hearing. I know what the Administrative Law Judges in the East Texas hearing offices look for, how to present medical evidence persuasively, and how to cross-examine vocational experts. There’s no upfront cost to hire me, so there’s no financial risk in getting help.
No. I don’t charge for consultations, phone calls, gathering medical records, or any work I do on your case. The only fee is the contingency fee described above, and it only applies if we win. I want every person in Tyler and East Texas who needs help to be able to afford it.
